Auckland Transport is working with Fletcher Construction, ACCIONA, AECOM and Jacobs as the Eastern Busway Alliance to design, consent and build the Pakūranga to Botany section of the busway. This large and complex infrastructure project has engaged BRS as the high performance Alliance Coach for this project, and we have been providing leadership, team development, project governance, commercial and procurement and advisory services to the Alliance since 2020 with the project construction expected to be completed in 2027.

Why they approached us

As part of our engagement, BRS identified the need for a leadership development program to be rolled out and offered across the Alliance.

Issue 1 - Leadership development had been prioritized at the senior levels of the project, with a reliance on inhouse capability to drive leadership development

Issue 2 - The program needed to cover all areas of leadership through interactive short and targeted sessions to encourage maximum participation

Issue 3 - As the program is heading further toward completion with a large infrastructure pipeline in New Zealand offering multiple opportunities, it was important to develop the next levels of leaders and encourage retention

Issue 4 - Facilitation needed to cover a virtual and face to face environment and cater for a variety of learning preferences

BRS solution:

BRS co-designed with the Alliance and interactive and engaging leadership program ”Foundation Leadership Program” that was built around the Alliance leadership framework and the capabilities required from leaders across the Alliance.
