Development and facilitation of commercial acumen training developing commercial capability for all staff within Alliance to provide foundational understanding for all staff, as well as a more comprehensive pathway for Budget Owners and those that possess more significant commercial responsibility within the Alliance.

Why they approached us

The Alliance had identified the need to upskilling their personal and embedding a value for money mindset within the Alliance that is tailored to the unique commercial model of the Eastern Busway Alliance

Issue 1 - Training of highly technical staff in all aspects of the alliance commercial model including Limb 1, 2 and 3 and the KRA/KPI framework

Issue 2 - Development of commercial capability skills for all staff within the Alliance, ensuring the ongoing suitability for new starters

Issue 3 - Tailoring of the commercial training to the commercial model in place for their Alliance

Issue 4 - Detailed training of budget holders in the alliance around setting budgets, forecasting, cost performance and change management

BRS solution:

Development and facilitation of commercial acumen for alliances training to all staff through foundation training and adept training for budget holders and those with significant commercial responsibility. This training enabled a stronger focus on commercial management and improved financial performance of the Alliance. The module based training enables staff new to the Alliance to attend as part of their induction process – thus lifting the commercial acumen across the entire Alliance through to successful delivery

Development and scoping of four training modules for various staff based on commercial responsibilities tailored for the unique commercial model of the Alliance;
Facilitation of Foundation commercial training suitable for all staff within the Alliance to embed a value for money mindset;
Facilitation of Adept commercial training with budget owners and staff with significant commercial responsibility from within Alliance;
Development of modules that covered commercial foundations, setting budgets and forecasting, cost performance active management, understanding the project alliance agreement (PAA) requirements, change management, procurement and subcontractor management;
Provision of tools and templates that supported the commercial training to all Alliance project staff.
