BRS was engaged to assist Mt Barker Council with increasing the commercial acumen of their staff in driving better value for money outcomes for both the community and council.

BRS solution:

BRS utilised their previous experience in commercial acumen and extensive knowledge of local government to facilitate a commercial champions coaching workshop series and deliver customised commercial acumen training sessions.

Support and upskill commercial champions by facilitation of workshop to align on role clarity, commercial strategy, identification of commercial behaviours and principles embedded in acumen training and coaching and mentoring techniques;
Commercial Acumen training sessions to raise commercial awareness, gain understanding around commercials, innovative procurement practices and improved risk allocation to enable staff to make effective commercial decisions; and
Improve commercial understanding and ensure decisions are aligned with strategy and commercial drivers of the council.
