Due to the increasing, complex and evolving needs of clients experiencing or at risk of homelessness across South Australia, the SA Housing Authority has adopted an Alliance model by establishing five Alliances to develop an integrated service network.

They have appointed BRS as an independent Alliance coach to support each of the five Alliances throughout the transition and mobilisation phases.

Why they approached us

BRS has extensive experience in Alliancing and were appointed to fast track the development of the Alliance throughout the transition and mobilisation phases. BRS’ local presence and unique understanding of the Alliance model enabled a collaborative partnership to deliver the required outcomes and work towards achieving a high performance culture whilst successfully delivering an integrated and aligned service response.

Engaging an independent facilitator, a trusted advisor, is best practice with Alliances as it provides a balanced view on challenges and issues and constructive advice regarding resolution.

BRS solution:

Having an external coach provides the opportunity of having an independent facilitator who can work solely in the best interest of the Alliances and SA Housing Authority. BRS’ role is to proactively drive alignment and behaviours which will ultimately de-risk the project and ensure the best chance for success.

BRS facilitated and coached the Alliances to ensure that each were clear on what is expected of a high performing Alliance, aligning on roles and accountabilities to quickly develop into a cohesive and effective team whilst ensuring a clear line of sign on integration with the bigger picture and objectives of the SA Housing Authority and the delivery of the Alliances.

Provision of multiple coaching options to allow flexibility on timing and required outcomes;
Providing targeted input through coaching and development of the Alliance participants;
Provision of Alliance Management Toolkit to support the fast-tracked mobilisation of each of the Alliances;
Alliance 101 Training for Alliance participants and Owner Interface Management Training for SA Housing Authority participants;
Development and implementation of a focused Alliance Management Plan which governs culture and leadership activities throughout the lifecycle of the Alliance and outlines the program of tasks, processes and initiatives necessary to drive successful delivery; and
Leadership coaching of the Alliance Management Team and key SA Housing Authority personnel.
