Newsletter June 2017

Can you believe it's almost the end of another financial year?

We are approaching the end of the financial year which is a busy time for many involved in the procurement and delivery of infrastructure projects.  Whether it is finishing off a project or continuing to deliver against an ambitious timeline for the close of a project, we need to finish off the way we started.

This months’ newsletter features the ending of our time with an important staff member and the finishing of a significant project that BRS has been involved with throughout the bid and delivery stages of the project.  We hope you get some value out of the newsletter and finish off the financial year in style.

Waterview Tunnel Opening

We are delighted to hear the Waterview Tunnel in Auckland was officially opened last Sunday and will be open to traffic soon.

The Waterview project being delivered by the Well-Connected Alliance is a special project from BRS’s perspective.  BRS is very grateful for the opportunity to be involved initially as bid coach for the Well-Connected Alliance consortium and as high performance coach during the delivery phase of the project.  It was the first large project that we had been involved with in New Zealand and it has been a terrific journey.   Our NZ business has grown with this project now delivering many bids and projects across New Zealand.

We congratulate everyone involved in the delivery of this project and look forward to the Waterview tunnels transforming the way people and freight move around Auckland.

In conjunction with the Office of the Industry Advocate, BRS is running Commercial Acumen Training: Building better Business Cases and Driving Value for Money with Suppliers.

Ben Stapleton is taking on a new challenge!

Ben has been one of the senior members of our team at BRS over the past few years, working with many of our clients, delivering on projects across Australia and New Zealand. Ben has recently been offered a role with one of our clients as the Global Managing Director, Infrastructure with Aurecon which he will commence next month. In this role Ben will be responsible for driving revenue growth across the Infrastructure business (which consists of transport and water sectors) with a team that has a presence in Australia, New Zealand, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. His focus will also be on market and client strategy, building capability to meet the market, winning work and improving the clients experience working with Aurecon.

There is no denying we are going to miss having Ben as part of our team. Ben is highly respected by our team and our clients for his ability to grow and adapt businesses to market, lead and develop constructive cultures and high performing teams, build and nurture relationships with clients, secure bids and lead the delivery of major procurement and projects.  In addition to this, he is also a great person who we have had a lot of fun with both professionally and personally.

From a client perspective, we will continue to deliver great services through the rest of the BRS team. We are working with Ben to finalise his current commitments to clients and also transitioning longer term client commitments to other members of the BRS team.

Ben, we wish you all the very best in your new role and we look forward to working with you in your new role.
