BRS was engaged to assist with supporting the Project Delivery team within New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) to deliver on the Auckland Acceleration Infrastructure Programme of projects. This required supporting key people, projects and reviews across a wide range of projects over a three year period.

Why they approached us

BRS was asked to facilitate the integration workshops with key stakeholders including Auckland Transport, Auckland Council and Auckland Airport on a range of projects. Further to this, the BRS team then designed strategies and high performance programmes to accelerate works and programmes.

It was imperative there was a focus on people and leadership development during what was a challenging delivery programme with constrained resources.

Issue 1 - No clear vision or understanding of the key priorities across the overall programme.

Issue 2 - Lack of teamwork and high performance culture within the Project Delivery team.

Issue 3 - Insufficient understanding of what the leadership team needed to focus on to support the Project Delivery team to deliver.

BRS solution:

Provision of workshops and quarterly 90-day planning workshops with the team to deliver a vision, united team and rolling 90 Day Plan. Development of an outstanding team culture that had the capability and teamwork to deliver on an ambitious programme of works

The need to develop of an overarching vision, key priorities and approach to delivering on the Auckland Acceleration Programme;
Embedding a united team approach that that played to the strengths of the people in the team; and
Implementation of a rolling 90 day planning cycle for the leadership team that ensured that the right priorities, critical path activities and initiatives were happening across the team.
